We founded our Cornersburg, Ohio workshop to develop a product line that both honors our French heritage as multi-generational bakers and to introduce healthy ancient grains into our family recipies.

We mill our own spelt flour onsite (from Ohio-grown, organic, non-GMO wheat), and combine it with specialty high quality flours (organic, non-GMO, unbleached, non-bromated) to develop our own proprietary blend of wholesome baking flour. This process has allowed us to create healthier products that not only taste incredible but also showcase superior quality and exceptional craftsmanship.

At Cerise, we bake vienoisserie, French pastries, specialty cookies, and more!

Our Products

The culinary journey of brothers Marc and Alain Pisan began in coastal Provence, France, where generations of their family worked as artisanal bakers. Surrounded by the daily rhythms of breadmaking and the scent of warm loaves, their passion for food and hospitality was born early and never left.

In the early 1990s, Alain and his wife Renee planted roots in Northeast Ohio, opening Renee’s French Bakery in Canfield and later the French Street Café in Niles. These beloved local spots introduced the community to traditional French techniques paired with local warmth.

In 2006, Marc and Alain reunited in Sonoma County, California, where Marc had been working in the wine industry. Along with their wives, Sam and Renee, they opened Chloe’s French Café and Catering in Santa Rosa—a local favorite for over 16 years.

Now, with Cerise Stone Mill Baking Company, Marc and Alain bring their decades of experience back to the Youngstown area. Combining old-world techniques, house-milled organic grains from Ohio farms, and a modern approach to flavor, Cerise represents a full-circle return to their roots—with fresh inspiration for the future.
